i bought my pulsar in august 2006 after a bit of head scratching as to what to go for after my sensible-ish vectra gsi v6 made me bored lol, i got the car having just been treated to a complete engine rebuild from the bottom up inc being fitted with a set of 1mm oversize wiseco pistons and uprated HKS headgasket, whilst this was built up it also had a brand new turbo back mongoose exhaust system and new turbo technics stage 1 hybrid blower.
soooooo after a bit of dealing the vectra was soon replaced by the R it was so freshly rebuilt that i had to run the engine in which was all good. after the initial running in was done i took the car to a now very good friend of mine shaun who is a pulsar guru and what he doesnt know about these cars isnt worth knowing and after a fine bit of fettling a full bill of health was diagnosed so it was ready for the first stage of modding....
the first thing i did was to do a complete service on the car using all oem parts and silkolenpro 's' 10/50 race oil whilst there shaun fitted a brand new walbro 255lph fuel pump and new fuel filters and also my new d2/hybrid front mount intercooler kit thus making me very happy. the car then was put on the rollers through the owners club and recorded a very healthy 281bhp+277lbf/t at just 0.9bar with a later diagnosed dead lambda sensor so i was chuffed.the engine stayed pretty much the same other than replacing the induction kit for a big mines filter from japan and i concentrated on the looks of the car by lowering her on nismo shocks and 'supposed' 40mm apex springs however once fitted the car measured more like 60-70mm!! on my 17's and looked stunning, the bodywork was immaculate anyway however i sent her to the bodyshop for a colour coding session and the results were amazing..much nicer imo, whilst there the lights were slightly smoked and the wheels were sent away to be powdercoated gloss black.
once out the shop it went for the tints to complete the stealthy look i was aiming for along with some smoked plates too.
the interior of the car is pretty much as nissan intended except for momo wheel and driver and passenger custom gauge pods to house my boost, oil pressure, oil temp and AFR gauges.
she now spends the majority of the time in the garage looking pretty as i have an astra for everyday use as the R is too nice to use daily and also has a severe habit when it comes to fuel lol.
i have big plans for her in 2008 as i have just taken delivery of a few goodies including a GT2871R turbo, greddy e-manage blue with all harnesses, Z32 AFM, 660cc nismo injectors, greddy profec b2 boost controller and full set of forge lightweight pullies which as soon as the nasty weather is out the way should be seeing their way onto the car and she will be sent for a good mapping session. shall be running 1.3bar for everyday use and 1.7 for high boost equating in roughly 350bhp everyday and between 380-400bhp high boost so to say im excited is an understatement. i will keep you all informed on the progress. thanks for reading this and hope to meet you all soon
 cheers sean
