So as some of you know i am moving on from my lovely cento as i have been bitten by the vw bug and couldnt resist.

after browsing ebay i found this little gem hiding up in portsmouth (pretty rusty but at 25 years old what isnt?).

so luckily i got a reasonable deal and dad was kind enough to drive it back, but we stopped cos i needed a wee

.

then when i got it home i took some pictures of the incredible interior!

and the 25 years of muck on the monstrous 1.1

.

then i got these (for some reason i dont seem to have a photo before i took the old ones out? madman)
which will enable me to make it scrape to my hearts content

front shock off and a big space.. ooo

me fitting top mounts ( i got my hair cut the day after. lol)

after i dropped it off the jack and stands and realised i only had 2 fingers driveshaft clearance

out with the rears and on with a silly face. i mean suspension. (ignore bad arch repair please.)

me building up a rear strut

on blocks to get the top mounts on (looks ALOT worse than it was!

and when its done!

more things to come are to paint the broken bits. and replace missing plastic!

shocks are ebays 'hot tuning' coilovers which were about 180 and are quite well rated by other vw people so i thought theyll be alright (they seem identical to vmaxx coils which are about £500  ).

rad was unbolted to fix the bonnet catch! dw haha.

and further plans are probs p slots (wheels) later on and possibly notching the frame so i can wind the coils to the bottom and maybe a 1.4 16v polo engine with some special tricks (but that wont be built till winter im afraid)

ill get some more pics of the bay up in the next few days when its a bit cleaner  !

cheers oli

had a bit of a change in plans for this as i will be dailying it to southampton (from ringwood) for the next 4 months i figured the engine bits will have to wait. so atm im cleaning up the engine and trying to fix all the minor leaks (only one left now  elf haha ) an then maybe get a weber carb on there or just a filter so it looks nice.

in the mean time here are my new wheels. corrado g60 steelies 15x6 et38. they will be running 165/50/15s which should look quite nice and allow me to still be low!

i have the centres to go with them too so theyll be pretty cool. hopefully have em on for eurofest if i get some money in time!

Now that is LOW
Whats going to happen when you want to overtake another car on the road?Huh?
Surely your exhaust will hit the cats-eyes
Cant wait to see the finished item..
No chance of getting it on a rolling road now
Still keeping that gear stick???
