well the mod bug is catchy, even charlie said to his other half nah it just gonna be a lil runaround and then he joined the rebels

fiats are so easy to mod and cinq's and sei's are one of the easiest and cheapest to mod but above all fiats have to be the most fun car to drive

Oh yeah its catchy alright!!! with a Capitail C,worth it though

Yeah tell me about it! It kinda went like this:
Lisa "Once you get this car you are not going to modifiy it are you?"
Charlie "Nope it is just gonna be a cheap little runner from home to work and back, I have a Supra  for that."
  what a laugh that is.
Great looking D, love it! :winner

Hi All,

Sorry ive not been on to update the thread maybe because i have not had anything to update on ,

Well i was going to test the car back in May but i decided to keep it SORN'ed for yet another year giving me a little more time to get a few more bits done to the car,

As much as iam using it as a track car and still want to keep it road legal for meets and Italian events so the quicker i get the work done the better,

So i have decided to keep the 1108cc,iam sending the head and flywheel off to my local motorsport engineer to have the head skimmed to get the compression up and also get the flywheel lightened and balanced but not by much just enough to make a difference, iam also thinking about doing the same to the crankshaft but the jury is still out on that,i do plan to polish the valves myself before grinding them back in and i might also port the head a little?we'll see,

Well i have made a start to stripping the front end this weekend so all going well i should be able to make a start to steam power washing the gearbox and engine then i can make a start to stripping it down later next weekend? then i can get on with the engine rebuild,

I also plane to fit a full stainless steel exhaust, new clutch, new silicon coolant pipes, new sump, new radiator, new coolant sensors and what ever else i decide?how No's the list is just to long,

I have also removed the rear bumper as i intend to buy new bumper brackets or have a new set welded up?not sure yet?we'll see, there is no rust on the car but as you all well know the brackets are the first thing to rust being so close the wheel arch...iam just glad its garaged or it would be wash away by now lol,

I have moved the front rally style flaps as i thought they looked better on the side wings in keeping with my rally look rather than bolted to the wheel arch linner,

I managed to get the engine bay all cleaned today but it took bloody hrs as i was being a little James May about it i have replaced some of the corrugated wiring loom covering and re-taped the loom back up using new insulating tape as it was when it came out of the factory 12 years ago...sorry i have no pic's of this but i will update the thread as and when i have time and i get some,

Some more stickers

Hi Pal Thanks,

Ive been way to busy from February so just not had the time i once had with the car so progress has been slower which iam not happy about as iam keen to get it finished so i can start using it for track days and Italian events ,as i said i did plan to get it tested in May there but with all the work i had done i was keen to get it finished and with the engine not having a whole lot done to it i was worried it was going to be the weak point in the chain so to speak,

I have done some silly jobs on it but its hard to remember whats been done and whats not

Hi Stu,Thanks

As much as i would love to go to Comb there will be no way i will have the car ready by then apart from that iam down in Dorset in July for a Christening so i would not be keen on making that journey twice in the space of a Month but all going well the car should be finished for next Easter ,so all going well i will make Comb in April 2011,we'll see,

I would go down the M8,M78,M6,M4, so i guess if you are going next April? we could meet up at a services on the M6?as going down the A1 from up here in Scotland to Newcastle would put big miles on my journey but meeting up would not be a problem,

Well i had some time on my hands today so was able to get the engine and box cleaned up using some Gunk and the power washer,so thats me know ready to get the engine stripped down,
