does anyone know of any places to source cheap mk1 1.2 16v engines, short of ebay and the scrapper im stuck, and as you dont know the condition of the engines, i wondered if any of you have had any good expriences with anybody, thats sells engines etc that are trust worthy.

nope, was thinking, with people doing conversions etc, where they sourced them from?

my little car has been sat on the driveway for about 6 months now. its got a knackered head and shot piston rings and the cost of repair would out weigh the cost of a 2nd hand engine.

Fiat forum i have not tried yet, tried most other places though

have you tried this site alfa http://www.gumtree.com/  its a site that sells anything second hand like ebay but no bidding when you go on it you will have to click on the link for your area cos I dont know where you live so I cant link it to your area give it a try anyway mate

So what exactly are you looking for a head and some bit to rebuild or a complete engine sporting engines are hard to come by  but isnt the MK 2 16 valver simular..?

full engine really. wouldnt be able to repair myself, if i was more flexible maybe, got the knowhow, just not the energy

similar but uses seperate coils rather than coil packs, and is a fly be wire throttle, but presume it would just be a case of swapping the ecu and throttle body accross, as other than that i think they are the same. lower power output though

i hope anyway, as there are a few mk2 engines knocking about.
