Tomorrow I'm giving the Coupe a little TLC....
Although it passed the MOT I was told that I have a little play in the O/S track rod end..
So I have the new part and the tools to do the job tomorrow.. Can't wait to fit it because that will give me an excuse to take it out for a spin

Wow I love jobs like that.. Took 30mins.
Removing a Track-rod End.
1) With wheel removed spray a load of WD40 on the nut/joint

Make a note of where the lock nut is and udo 1/4 turn.
Remove nut;

2) Using a splitter remove joint

Undo the rod end making a note of how many turns it takes to come off.
3) Clean all faces and brush a little copper slip on all faces.

4) Get your new part ready and again brush a little copper slip on the joints.

5) Job done.

Best part now is the test drive   :driving :winner :2nd :3rd

At Combe is was confirmed that my little ticking noise I have (when cold) is my manifold............ Yep its CRACKED
Over the coming weeks I intend to remove the front bumper and check it out.
So if you hear of a nice manifold up for grab send me a PM. I'm also on the look out for an Evo 7,8 or 9 intercooler.. May as well fit a bigger one whilst the front end is stripped down  This should then get me into the 300BHP club

Common issue on the Coupe manifold's, but as with anything that breaks on a car, it's an opportunity to improve that area.

Those of you who have had a coupe will know that the rear light cups are prone to corrosion

So today I spent an hour and removed mine ready for a refurb;
Tools req'd;

With the heat gun set on max I applied even heat around the cup;

This makes the bond soft enough to give you a chance to pull it out;

Once out you can remove the excess sealent from the cup body;

All 4 cups removed;

Now waiting to remove the sealent from the out side of the cup before I can strip/blast them.

Next week I will powder them. I have a colour in mind so you will have to wait and see.....

yeah thats a common problem with the coupes as the back lights are slanted down at an angle water sits in there and after time eats away at it. That is a good job done man  :goodjob

Tomorrow they will be stripped and blasted. Then I can see just how bad one of them is before powder coating them...
Mind you i still need to remove some of the factory sealent from the out side of em
