Hi All

I mentioned when i introduced my car in the new members section that it was in need of some new front suspension. BTW its not really a track car but my daily drive   .

I had a knocking noise from the pass ball joint and general bad handling getting worse as time went on. It was following bumps in the road and wandering etc...

Then one night while i was contemplating the cost of the parts (im a student so im poor) I hit a huge pot hole! Buckled the wheel so badly the rim was hitting the steering arm and macpherson strut! I had a bike rack sticking out on the back and it was a narrow bit ...  :driving

So off i went to get the much needed new bits and a new track rod end as its gaitor had been sliced open by the buckled wheel.

Got some KYB standard front struts, for about £95 a second hand wishbone off a low mielage 899 for £9 and a set of standard bushes for £15 (would love poly bushes.... but...)

I put lower springs on about 2 years ago. New rear shocks after the accident as i tied the toe rope around the trailing arm - which then moved and bent one of the rear shockers (wont be doing that again)

Its also had new arb bushes also recently and top mounts some time ago according to the cars history.

The car is totally transformed, quieter, smoother, not bouncy!, obedient, doesnt throw a wobbler if you spin the wheels etc etc

Im pleased i put the effort in yeah.

Does anyone ever have any luck claiming from the council! Iv had quite a few buckled wheels over the past year - i think the cinqs small wheels and reasonably low profile tyres are highly susceptable to pot holes!

The wheel - despite how bad it was has been fixed by mr hammer. and i was thinking i would have to go to fiat or a pro garage to quote for repairs and a receipt before claiming from the council?

Couldnt be arsed really, its only cost me the track rod end...

It took a year  for my sister in law to get compensation for two tyers on her Volvo off the council after hitting a pot hole around our area, and our area is full of them a shock absorber sellers dream thats why all our Kwik Fit fitters drive fancy cars

A supersprint! I have got one of those on my track car but not one spare. Best thing to do is keep an eye on ff that is where I got mine. Larkspeed does the best deal on poly bushes (full set) i do have a spare full set of 4 stock cinq alloy wheels.

Hey

yeah iv got spare cinq alloys too, cheaper than buying tyres elf haha

Im about to put some Alfa 33 Revolution RFX's on though! 13 x 6's just very slowly been refurbing them. Got them for £30 from ebay! bargain!

Now im looking at the rear trailing arm bushes - cos i can hear them creaking all the time now. I understand the polybushes are the diy option here as the normal bushes are too difficult to fit without a press?. So that next on the reality list. Might get a second hand rear beam etc and do it up nice before putting it on.

Would be more enjoyable then. Got one?
