I just liked that photo so posted it up.

Abarth kit is going on soon - i have been busy with final year thesis at uni etc... Final dead line is May 25th so its starting to get busy!!!

I'v got things ready like fineline tape, sikaflex etc etc... I still have green paint left. I think the red on the bumpers is different to the red my car was... So will probs have to paint the rear bumper too.

I hope to get it done for auto italia at Brooklands 1st may. If I get time!! Anyone going?

Sadly I cant go to Combe cos im too poor (thats why iv got a cinq  )

Cars generally running very well. Its so funny - I was driving our standard cinq the other day - gave it some beans and nearly wallowed into a lorry in a standing line of traffic. Handling on this car is so much more precise than the standard suspension.

Also I think im goign to start a new fad for super low tail pipes/silencers. Iv made up an adjustable hanger to avoid some clearance probs im having from my 'custom'  pipe

Iv started rubbing down the parts ready for painting. Il put some picks up soon. Will hopefully put primer on tomorrow.

I think the red paint matches my car better than i had thought - but we will see...

Ordered the little badges for the skirts which are missing.

also just ballanced my new tyres with a diy machine i just bought for £45 - for a lifetime of saving money doing my own tyres elf haha

Ran out of primer this morning! - as usual!

getting the car done for Auto Italia at brooklands on 1st may. elf haha should annoy some people there  :piss

fineline tape

Removed funny little black plastic rear quarter trim - half the rusted up screws snapped. self tappers it is then...

If you look carfeully one of the skirts has a crack which i have fixed with sikaflex. This is from where i pulled it too hard, panicking as the punto ballanced above was gradually sliding off the roof!

now for the tricky part of matching the paint lines up...

hopefully i will update 2moro

Hi all

Iv been thinking - there seems to be a bit of a gap - about 3-4mm at the front of the skirts where they wrap around the arches.

Do you think this is to accomodate the abarth arch extensions?? I just realised this, makes me feel better about the fit.

Hopefully I will paint the bumper green today elf haha

i reckon you may be right on that purf. but not positive. see what others say as well. it shouldn't be a prob we all have little imperfection on our cars.

Found some pics wiv abarth ktted cinqs it could be wot ya siad bout wider arches ave a study at the pics and decide
unless there are two types of kit one with extention arch and one without the one with might be for actual track use the other just like general public dealer sale cos the ones in the pics dont seem to ave arch extentions ave a look anyway

Hi all

thanks for the pics. all appart from the bottom seem to have perfectly fitting skirts? Maybe there where slightly longer ones used with the abarth arch trims? But the car i got them off didnt have those fitted.

If i center the skirts - which i will be doing, then there is about a 3mm overhang on each end. which looks ok and is not obvious.

Anyway - im happy with the fit so far. I put the first coat of white on the skirts today. Green paint will be on saturday i think.
I also finished addresing the crack in one of the skirts.

Heres some pics:

Crack :(

White area masked off....

more picks at the weekend
