German flag! hadnt thought of that - although i rekon i inspired a mk1 caddy near me to paint his tailgate in the german flag! Wink

Cheers Paul It was nice and i bit of a shock. worst of all is the knackered wheel! its totally egg shaped in a big way! and the 1242
had only been in about a month! The car was high mielage 124,000 miles and shell had a little rust. It was only painted like that cos i ran into a hedge 2 years ago:)

New car will eventually get the abarth kit which just about survived! not much time anymore though so it'l take a while. Your cable is in the post.

nice one mate. shame about the wheels mate, looked sweet. if you liked the flag paint job why not use the same flag but run it length ways over the car? would look sweet that way and similer to the old one. hopefully yoda will be going in for mot in couple of weeks. have done loads of work on him now. stopped the rattle's and thumps. and everything works now, once the cable is fitted he is pretty much ready. only one issue left now. when you first start up in the cold it misses a tiny bit for a couple of secs. think its just leads or something. you doing the engine chop on the new one or keeping it standard engine wise?

I probably will fit the 1242 eventually but only when something needs doing - like clutch or hg something. not that im expecting it to break. The flag didnt blow its gasket in 30,000 miles of true high reving torture elf haha Its pretty fun with the 1108 as it is with the janspeed cat back and i think it may have been chipped as the rev limiter is on 7000rpm? is that normal anyone.

I will do a new thread on the new car next week.

Yeah lumpy startup will probably be damp leads, try putting some polish on them - i forget which type, it been recommended to me before. The 1108's always has a bit of a flat spot before it warms up.

let me know if you need any more bits anyone. im putting as much as poss on ebay starting with small bits and bobs:

funny you mention the start up/ warm up problem as since getting myn back on the raod in the mornings the engine barely ticks over wen the engine starts then once shes up to temperature the idle sits at around 900 to 1000 revs??? which i think is right. also iv done around 100 miles in the car now and iv started to realise that wen changing bewtween gears lets say 2nd to 3rd it seems lyk the clutch sticks on after u realise the pedal so it revs up too quick but doesnt engage the gear very quickly then wen the clutch engeages the gear it drops back maybe a thoud=sand revs then revs again lyk normal any ideas mate. im thinking either slackening the clutch cable slightly and then maybe getting fresh oil pt in the gear box??? oh yh and do u know which fuse controls the windscreen washers/ squiter thingy majiggys as i think it ran dry then blew the fuse cheers.

900-1000 revs is spot on for normal idle after warm up. what does it idle at when you first start it up?

mine always had a lumpy idle all the time. i think it was the black sensor on the throttle body - air idle control valve - me thinks. i can bring a spare off that manifold you guys gave me if you wanna try one. itl be one of the sensors... but try changing the accelerator cable ajuster as  its quite sensitive and can cause funny symptoms.

was it a new clutch? it could be from not being driven?? im sure these issues will become clearer as u drive it more
