On my ds so excuse the brief report.
Qualifying was fairly uneventful - toro rosso lost alguesuari in q1. luizzi really couldn't get on form with the force india, and button struggled in the mclaren.
red bull were on there own, never looked threatened and vettel got the better run to take pole.alonso was the best of the rest but still 7 1/10s off ooer.
hamilton worked his sockx off for 4th. good to see barri in the williams up there. sauber also pulled back the form they showed in winter testing - interesting. lotus et al are still seconds off the pace.

1 vettel
2 webber
3 alonso
4 hamilton
5 rosberg
(corrected 6 Kubica)
7 massa
8 barri
9 de la rosa
10 schuey
from memory so if its wrong ill tidy it up later.
should be a good scrap, hamilton will have his work cut out with alonso along side and the red bulls ahead.
we'll have to see tomorrow.

I've put Kubica back in his correct slot now. Looking at the lap times it looks like the leaders could be lapping the back markers by lap 15.

Note Senna is missing - apparently turned up at Silverstone, HRT had a falling out, brought in a replacement and then sorted out the disagreement. Senna should be back next time....

I hope McLaren can find out whats so horribly wrong with Buttons car (need a few Jedi mind tricks I think). Hamilton also said it was terrible to drive, but still set the fastest time after the Red Bulls.

In case you wondered, McLaren brought a new rear floor and exhaust, originally due for Hockenheim. Its got the 'blown diffuser', ie exhaust is pushed over the diffuser to generate downforce (same as the Red Bulls). Most of the teams have added it or working on it. McLarens was felt to be so bad on Friday that Gary Parfett spent Friday night on the simulator at Woking working on set ups for the old car, taking into account the new sections of track and some new bumps on the race track. Upshot of the testing was the mechanics removed all the new stuff and went back to the old floor and exhaust ready for Saturday. Not surprised they feel a bit wayward.

Red Bull on the other hand had a new nose. They gave it to Vettel. Broke it. Had another one and let Vettle keep it. Vettels car is a little bit quicker....Webber didn't get to try the new nose. All fair and dandy there then I expect.

And Kubica? More upgrades on the Renualt. Looked up for it in practice on Friday. Seemed to struggle a bit through Q1 and Q2. Dropped Petrove along the way. Stioll 1.4 seconds off the pole time, but sure to be in the mix for points.

Great stuff, more to come later, but all who don't know - webber took the win, hamilton did a fantastic job to stay second, rosberg third.

1 webber
2 hamilton
3 rosberg
4 button
5 barri
6 kobayashi
7 vettel
8 schuey
9 liuzzi

from memory, so i'll put it right later if its a bit wayward.

if yiu get a chance have a look at the bbc web driver finder during the race. its great, visual plan of the track with near real time updates as they circulate. great for keeping an eye on all the cars.
