Interesting that Button stuck with the F duct and consequently is carrying a lot of wing on the McLaren. Lewis on the other hand went for the normal setup for Monza - skinny wing, top speed down the straight - didn't seem to pay off did it. Makes me think that Mclaren have taken a view to spread their bets.

Ferrari look pretty tidy, I guess Massa has been told that 'Alonso is faster than you' again.....

Webber had engine problems in morning practice so pulling back to 4th is a big result.

Rosberg yet again humiliates Schuey and must be embarrassing Mercedes too I would think. Good effort though.

Williams must be really pleased. There's a Cosworth powering the Williams, wonder how well it would go with a Renault or Merc powerplant?
Frank Williams was at the track again too.

Sutil could only manage 11th - shame after the good running at SPa and on the front row last year.

Sorry missed Kubica - looking good again really. boy has he made that Renault go well this year.

Oh well lets see who gets through the first corner in one piece and then who gets the champagne and the big cup at the end.

Come on Sutil....nah, come on Barri. elf haha (and Jenson)....and maybe Mark, and Lewis...and a bit for Rosberg too. Oh better not forget Massa. Actually any of them really, apart from Alonso and Vettel. There, that feels better.. Wonder if Lotus could get a point. hmm didnt wonder for long.

Got to be honest. Went out to Corfe Castle with the family and didn't watch it. Came home to find I had mucked up the HD box recording it, and then it wasn't on Iplayer to watch later either.
Once I have seen it I'll add a comment or two.

Old adage is ringing in Hamiltons ears though - if you want to finish first then first you've got to finish.

I hear Heidfeld will be back in the Sauber for the remainder of the season.

After all than, Alonso took a win at Monza in a Ferrari. Beaten off the line by Button, it could have gone very wrong through the first chicane. Alonso nerfed the back of Button sending shards of carbon fibre diffuser all over the place. Alonso also nudged Massa sideways, but as we've seen before, the Ferrari is a pretty tough machine and both bumped and jostled through. And that's the way it stayed until the tyre stop. Jenson came in first, had a slow(ish) outlap and Alonso squeezed into the lead. Win for Alonso, Massa dutiful 3rd.

Ferrari - can't argue with it really, but would have been better with Massa on the top step.

McLaren - Hamilton tried to squeeze up the inside of Massa into the second chicane. Not really much room there, especially when you're barely up the inside. One bounce of the side pod followed by a dink from the rear wheel and Hamilton was heading for the gravel with a broken trackrod. Button, complete with ludicrous large wing for Monza, very nearly pulled off a win. Did the early damage hurt? who knows.

Red Bull - dodgy start from Mark and Vettel seemed to go forever before stopping on the last lap for tyres. Webber battled with Hulkenberg who seemed to have a pact with the stewards to allow him to drive across the chicanes a little too often - no penalty. Not Red Bulls finest, but it wasn't going to be.

Mercedes - Rosberg just got on with it. Schuey, at least didn't shove anyone into the wall. Time to think again about the comeback I think.

Renault - Kubica didn't really go as well as you would have expected.

Williams - both in the points.

And the rest? didn't really feature.

Singapore next.
