basically the cinq conversion from the 899 to 1108 is gradually progressing but havn a problem with the starter motor on the cinq. im using the 899 wiring loom instead of takn it out and putting in the sportin loom which ming did. whenever the i try to connect the battery pos+ the starter motor it starts to crank and sparks of the battery without the key in the ignition. does any1 know how many cables and wat colours go to the starter and the alternator as charley wired them up using a 1242 as a guide and they look lyk ther in the right place but it might be diff cos im using the original loom.

Also next to the inlet manifold on the loom there are two small cables, one colour is purple and 1 is green with ring connectors which 1 think r earths does anyone know where these cables bolt onto?

As said it's easier to get the correct loom from a donor car to get it all working correctly.

I reply already on FF with the pictures.

IT is much easier using the 899 loom, then you don't need to mess about trying to get it matching the in car loom.

Fitting the 1.1 or 1.2 into an 899 is the exactly same process.
